Transportation
Mesa Verde is located approximately 10 miles from Cortez, Colorado and approximately 45 miles from Durango, Colorado, accessible via U.S. Highway 160. Air travel is available into both Cortez and Durango. Greyhound bus service is available to Durango, Colorado. Please note that there is no public transportation (bus or taxi) to and from Mesa Verde National Park. Rental cars are available at both airports.
Employees driving personal vehicles are required by National Park Service to show proof of auto insurance and obtain a NPS vehicle sticker available through Human Resources.
Employees must contact Human Resources at least 1 week prior to their scheduled arrival time. The Human Resources office is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Employees are encouraged to arrive on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, before 3 p.m. for new hire processing and housing assignments. Employees arriving after-hours or on weekends will be responsible for their own lodging, as employee housing (assignments) will not be available after 5 p.m.
As a courtesy to employees, a FREE employee shuttle is available from the ARAMARK Mesa Verde employee housing area to work locations. Work areas are located approximately 26 miles from the employee housing area.
A FREE employee shuttle is available approximately 3 times per week from the ARMARK Mesa Verde employee housing area to town (Cortez, Colorado) for shopping, movies, dinner, library, swimming and other activities. The shuttle stays in town for approximately 4-6 hours before returning to the employee housing area
